Compliance and funding

The Apprenticeship journey

01.

Define role

First identify the role your business needs and then choose the correct apprenticeship standard.

02.

Select training provider

Choose an approved training provider, agree the delivery model (day release, blended etc).

03.

Recruitment

Recruit the right apprentice. Issue employment contract, apprenticeship agreement. Put workplace support in place (line manager, mentor).

04.

Induction

Introduce the apprentice to the workplace systems, policies and rules. Confirm starting competencies. Agree training plan and milestones.

05.

Training and development

Provide planned, meaningful on-the-job training. Release apprentice for 20% off-the-job training (with provider). Provide support for the apprentice with regular reviews and feedback. Tasks must map to the apprenticeship standard.

06.

EPA and completion

Confirm when apprentice is ready for the end point assessment (EPA). Support the apprentice and work with the EPA organisation during the assessment. Confirm EPA completion and next steps for the apprentice.
